Learning, Growing, and Exploring Outdoors
At Coombs Early Learning Centre, our Bush Kinder program is a cherished part of our curriculum. This nature-based learning program allows enrolled children to explore, learn, and grow in the great outdoors. It’s a chance for little ones to develop independence, resilience, and creativity while connecting with the natural world in a meaningful way.
What Is Bush Kinder?
Bush Kinder is our outdoor learning program where children explore natural environments beyond the classroom. Inspired by the Danish ‘forest school’ model from the 1950s, Bush Kinder encourages unstructured play in nature, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a deep connection to the environment.

Why We Offer Bush Kinder
At Coombs Early Learning, we believe that nature is a powerful teacher. Bush Kinder allows children to engage with the natural world, developing essential life skills like problem-solving, resilience, and environmental stewardship. This approach aligns with our commitment to holistic, inquiry-based education.
