Hear From Our Educators
“What initially drew me to Coombs Early Learning was the Bush Kindy program and the strong commitment to embedding natural philosophies across the service. The opportunity to extend learning beyond the classroom provides children with endless possibilities to explore, discover, grow, and play. ... Now, five years on, I am proud to say I work at Coombs Early Learning. Throughout my time here, I have been offered a wide range of professional development opportunities that have strengthened my knowledge and experience within Early Childhood Education and Care. The support provided by the management team, particularly in expanding the Bush Kindy program to reach more children, reflects their flexibility and genuine commitment to achieving the best learning outcomes for all. Each day, I am welcomed with kindness and warm smiles, making the service a truly positive and enjoyable place to be.”

Joining the team marked the start of a rewarding and inspiring career path, and I have genuinely loved every moment since. I began as an educator in the ... preschool room while completing my Certificate III. During this time, I developed a strong foundation in early learning practices and built meaningful connections with the children and families. Soon after, I stepped into the role of Preschool Room Leader, where I was given the opportunity to further grow my leadership skills and guide a dedicated team of educators. My journey then expanded into the role of Forest School Leader and Educational Support. While assisting the Educational Leader and completing my Forest School Leader certification, I had the privilege of planning and coordinating engaging Forest School sessions for more than 120 children aged two years and above each week. This role allowed me to foster children’s connection with nature, encourage risk-taking in a safe environment, and support hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences. I am now proud to be the Assistant Manager and have recently commenced my Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education at the University of Canberra. Each day, I continue to find joy in building strong, supportive relationships with both the children and my colleagues. The encouragement, mentorship, and opportunities I have received over the past two and a half years at Coombs Early Learning have been truly invaluable. I am incredibly grateful for the support I’ve been given and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.

From my first day, I was welcomed and encouraged to grow as the team saw potential in me and invested time and guidance into ... developing my skills and confidence whilst I grew as an educator. Since starting, I have completed my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and am now currently working towards by Bachelors of Early Childhood and Primary Education at the University of Canberra. Coombs has been incredibly supportive of my studies by consistently encouraging my professional growth and providing opportunities to apply my learning in practice. From the ongoing mentorship and support that Coombs has provided me, I was honoured to receive the Rising Star Award at the Early Childhood Australia Education and Care Awards Gala in 2025 – a milestone that meant so much to me. Now as a room leader, I feel privileged to guide my team while continuing to learn and grow myself. What I enjoy the most about working in this sector is watching children grow and settle into the environment more and more each day and they continue to build confidence, form friendships, and develop a strong sense of belonging which is incredibly rewarding. Coombs Early Learning is more than just a workplace for me. It is a supportive community where educators are valued and children are truly the heart of what we do as we all grow!
