A Day at Coombs Early Learning

See how our daycare routine blends play, learning, rest, and care to create a safe, engaging environment where children feel at home.

Coombs Daycare Routine

At Coombs, we follow a gentle routine that helps children feel settled and confident. From morning drop-off to afternoon pick-up, your child will enjoy plenty of time to play, learn, rest, and connect with friends.

Our educators are here to guide and encourage each child as they explore, ask questions, and grow in their own way. Each space is set up to feel welcoming and calm, so your child feels at home from their very first day.

Nursery Rooms

In our two Nursery Rooms, babies and young toddlers are cared for in calm, nurturing spaces that feel safe and familiar. Soft sensory play areas, gentle music, and movement activities encourage early development, while dedicated educators build strong bonds with each child. We learn their cues, routines, and comfort items so the day feels as close to home as possible.

With cosy sleep areas and secure outdoor spaces, little ones can rest, explore, and grow at their own pace.

Tiny Toddler Rooms

As children become more active, our Tiny Toddler Rooms provide a safe space for exploration and confidence-building. You’ll see your child begin to pull themselves up more on furniture, push toys around, and test out new ways to move, all with gentle support from familiar educators.

This age is full of discoveries, simple games, songs, and sensory play that help toddlers understand the world and start to express themselves. We understand that routines still matter, so we work closely with you to maintain consistency in mealtimes, sleep, and comfort items. It’s a warm, welcoming space where little ones feel secure as they grow into their independence.

Toddler Rooms

In our Toddler Rooms, children have the space to move, play, and take on more independent tasks. Each day includes plenty of outdoor time to climb, run, and explore, building strength and confidence along the way.

Inside, we maintain consistent routines while offering activities that support early language development, social skills, and problem-solving. Educators are there to help with milestones like toilet learning and to encourage children as they practise making choices and working alongside others.

Junior Preschool Rooms

In our Junior Preschool Rooms, children begin taking on more responsibility and practising skills they’ll use when they transition into preschool. Each day has a mix of planned activities and time to explore their own interests, with educators there to guide and support them.

Outdoor play is still a big focus; children spend time running, climbing, and working together, which builds strength, cooperation and their physical development. Indoors, activities help develop early literacy, numeracy, and social skills through stories, group discussions, and hands-on experiences. Educators help children learn how to manage their emotions, look after their belongings, and build positive relationships, all within a consistent routine that helps them feel secure.

Preschool Rooms

Our Preschool Rooms are all about helping your child feel ready and excited for the move to big school. Each day includes plenty of time for hands-on learning, group projects, and activities that build early literacy and numeracy in a way that feels natural and engaging.

Educators support children as they practise following instructions, managing their belongings, and working together with friends. There’s a strong focus on helping them build independence and confidence in a safe, caring environment. Outdoor play is still a big part of the day; children have space to run, climb, and explore while developing coordination and social skills. By the end of preschool, our goal is to help every child feel confident, capable, and ready, both socially and emotionally, for their next big adventure.

How You Can Support Your Child’s Daycare Routine

Starting childcare is a big step, and we’re here to help make it as smooth as possible. You can support your child’s transition by talking positively about their day, keeping drop-offs calm and reassuring, and maintaining consistency with routines at home whenever possible.

It also helps to share any updates with us, like changes to sleep, eating, or what comforts them, so we can make sure they feel secure and understood. If you ever have questions or worries, our educators are always available to talk things through.

Together, we can create a positive experience that helps your child feel settled, confident, and happy to come each day.

Hear From Our Families

“This is a terrific early learning centre. Both my children have thoroughly enjoyed their time here. Fiona, Christie and the staff here have been very helpful with my sons development. To me having the highest quality childcare centre at a reasonable price was my priorty. This gave my family a very healthy work life balance. The high quality catered meals multiple times per day, the great play areas and the provided sundry items make for a very healthy, convenient and safe place for the children. I couldn’t recommend more!!”

“Coombs ELC is single handedly the best day care centre I’ve seen.
Both my children go there and I feel comfortable and overjoyed being able to send them there. We have had horrible experiences with other day care centres making it so hard for me to trust anyone with my children, however the educators at Coombs ELC are absolutely amazing, they’re always happy, greet my children with hugs and smiles every morning and have built such good relationships with them. All the other children seem happy and content which shows just how amazing the care is that they provide (something I never saw at other centres). I would highly recommend Coombs ELC to any of my family and friends and will continue to send my children there until they meet school age.

Ps the outdoor area is insane and has LOTS of shade and cover meaning no matter the weather you’re children are safe and shelters when playing outdoors.”

“ From the very first day, we knew we’d made the right choice. The educators at Coombs are so caring and genuinely care. Our daughter settled in quickly and absolutely loves going to school, especially the outdoor play and all the creative activities. We feel so lucky to be part of such a supportive centre that really understands families.”
